Why we wear Uniforms

Our development of a uniform policy is driven by a desire to create and promote an environment of learning where dress is not distracting from but rather enhancing the educational process. The policy has grown out of the following principles:

  • Our goal is to honor God in all we do, acknowledging the Lordship of Christ in our choices.

  • All human actions, including outward choices such as clothing, reveal and communicate the disposition of the heart. It is our desire to address these heart issues in one policy rather than responding to numerous variations that may surface throughout the year with a looser policy.

  • Uniforms help create a cohesive presentation of the students in our school. It communicates that they are part of the same team, working toward the same goals. Each student is part of a culture that strives for excellence; wearing uniforms establishes a tradition toward that end.

  • The policy is a desire to create an environment where undue attention is not drawn to individual students.

  • The uniform code de-emphasizes the social impact of dress and helps focus the students on character and academics.

  • The uniform code encourages safety. Outside or inside the school, teachers can clearly identify outsiders from students.

Liberty Classical School is a full-time, private Christian Classical school in Lincoln, NE. We exist to educate children that they may know and love the truth. We partner with parents to establish men and women who glorify God as loyal servants. We equip our students to be formidable adversaries of falsity and all other enemies of God. We believe that the primary end for education is not merely survival, but glory—glory in the truth and Glory to God—the Father, the Spirit and the Son—on Earth as it is in Heaven. Amen
